LOUISE & JAMES

Louise and James had a Melbourne city wedding with real inner-north character. Their interfaith celebration moved between Brunswick and the Fitzroy Gardens, and the streets did a lot of the styling for us: sunny heritage walls, purple flowers spilling from planter boxes, and red-brick laneways where the light cuts in sharp and low.

Louise's bouquet was a burst of orange and pink, and James wore a soft cream suit, so I let the colour lead in the daylight frames and went moody and dramatic in the shade. Between the portraits there was plenty of laughing, a quick stop on a busy shopping street, and a few quiet moments where they forgot I was there.

Getting married in Melbourne's inner north? Brunswick and Fitzroy are full of textured walls and laneways. Ten minutes of walking between your ceremony and reception is enough for a whole set of portraits.
