Laura and Peter's wedding was modern Melbourne at its best. Laura got ready in a bright white room full of plants, with the light through the blinds making soft stripes across her sleek high-neck gown and white bouquet.

They married in a church in Richmond under tall stained-glass windows, then we headed into the city to Flagstaff Gardens, where the old trees and the city towers behind them gave us a clean, elegant backdrop. With the bridesmaids in black and a simple, modern palette, I kept the edit fresh and natural, with a few black-and-white frames along the way.

Want a minimal, modern look? Pick a palette of two or three colours, like white and black here. It keeps the photos timeless, and the city parks near the CBD make an easy backdrop between church and reception.
